Solent Events Calendar 2021
Lymington Berths Friday 30th April to Monday 3rd May
Please Note
All places are now taken for Lymington Berths Friday 30th April – Monday 3rd May 2021
The UK Government’s proposed roadmap out of COVID-19 Restrictions limits meeting to 6 people or two households outdoors. Boating activity is permitted and you are allowed to stay on your boat overnight.
We have reserved some berths on the Dan Bran pontoon at Lymington from the evening of Friday 30th April to Monday 3rd May. We propose to allocate these berths on a first come, first served basis to MOA Solent members as follows:
- Please complete the booking form (Word ) and email to Sue Fellowes-Freeman at solentevents@moodyowners.org
- Once you have been allocated a berth by Sue could you contact Lymington Harbour directly to book your berth
- Please comply with Lymington Harbour’s requirements for pre-payment, agreement to rafting and agreement to follow their COVID-19 regulations etc.
We ask that you let Sue know if you subsequently decide that you do not want your berth as we can then give it to another MOA member.
Note that we believe that there will be limited toilet & shower facilities available. See https://www.lymingtonharbour.co.uk/facilities
There will be a Dixon race to/from Lymington. See the attached race instructions <here>

Informal Meets
Sometimes Solent Branch members will suggest an “Informal Meet” – a simple gathering!
The idea is that people will simply turn up at a particular location and be responsible for making their own anchoring or berthing and dining arrangements. The whole idea is based on informality and spontaneity.
If you spot an opportunity to propose an Informal Meet, why not take a chance and send a message via the Solent Branch Discussion Board. Alternatively, if you are already afloat you could try using your VHF radio or its DSC function to broiadcast a message.
The Solent Branch uses VHF Channel 77 and has adopted a group call sign of Compass. Our group DSC MMSI number is 023200031.
If you do enjoy a successful meet please send a short report with photos (if you have any) to our team of website updaters to help encourage other Branch members to participate.
