Cruise to Chichester & Nab Tower Race – 23rd May 2015

Coordinators: Paul & Janet Morgan-Owen

The weekend was a great success despite the marina’s nabtowerstaff chaotic handling of berthing us.

The drinks on the pontoon went down well with the odd sausage roll or two or a duck spring roll and as to the salmon thins, well they soon went, along with the nuts and crisp’s.

Having had our starter on the pontoon we then set off for our dinner at the Yacht Club where we were buzzzzzed and flashed made by the electronic call devices for getting our food. It’s run like a fast food cafe’ these days, I think I preferred it as it was about 10 years ago. The food was good and we all had a good time.

The Sunday morning walk to Itchenor was extended to a round trip via Bosham and the outskirts of Chichester by all but 3, no names pack-drill. Due to blisters, aching limbs and fatigue the rounders was cancelled.

The BBQ was held in and near the hide by the lake, it proved just right with seating and shelter from the wind. The photo is of us enjoying our food and drinks outside the hide and was enjoyed by all.

We all had a great sail back and Becky Carson took the wheel for the first time.
