Guidance on Events

Last weekend the UK government and the devolved administrations relaxed Covid 19 guidance to allow some socialising within limits and as long as the local guidance is followed.
Now that we have this partial relaxation it is appropriate that Branch and Chapter Captains with their committees can commence those social activities which can be done within the limits of local guidance and with due care to the safety of members.
On July 8th I messaged all Captains to inform them of this revision to our policy.

Keep safe everyone.

Colin

Commodore's Update

We are living in very strange times.

It is particularly sad that my first communication with you as your new Commodore has to focus on how we, in the MOA, can do our part to slow the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic and help save lives. It is likely to be the greatest challenge any of us will have faced in our lifetimes and it is crucial we take it seriously.

We are all well aware that the age profile of our membership is on the higher end of the scale. This is a group which is known to be particularly susceptible.

I do hope everyone is well and keeps so during this period of necessary isolation.

So what is the response from the MOA?

With immediate effect, details of the entire 2020 social programme organised by Branches and Chapters will be removed from the web site. To be reinstated when guidance from the authorities suggests it is safe for life to return to some form of normality.

Branch social activities both indoors and outdoors should stop with immediate effect.

Your General Committee has cancelled their meeting due to be held on April 2. The meeting, and perhaps others, will now take place using video conferencing.

We have adapted the Information Exchange moodyowners.info to enable the separation of Technical from General interaction. The General forum of this important resource is open to all members and will be used by the General Committee to post updates. Please do use it to keep up to date.

We do hope everyone keeps well and that we will all meet in our groups when the crisis is over. Perhaps then the world may be a very different place.

Your Executive Committee.

Commodore's Welcome

“I am delighted to welcome you to the Moody Owners Association Website. The aims of the Association are to serve as a custodian of information about Moody boats; to provide a forum for owner experiences concerning the marque; to promote social and sailing opportunities for owners to meet, sail together and socialise and to provide a point of contact for prospective Moody owners. Our magazine Compass and our Website strive to provide all this, so please do explore and enjoy them.  If you own a Moody and are not a member already, please come and join us.”
