Rally to Burnham-on-Crouch & Fambridge

Event Details

Lorraine and John Holliday will be hosting the Burnham Rally in the Burnham Yacht Harbour on Saturday 11th May and on Sunday 12th May Giles Ford Crush will be hosting an on the water event in Fambridge.

On Saturday afternoon from 15:00 there will be a get together on ‘Miss Saigon’, berth H41 with drinks and nibbles.

Saturday evening I have booked The Royal Corinthian Yacht club for their bistro evening which is served from 6pm to 9pm. I have provisionally booked 15 people but I need to confirm this number.

Sunday will consist of an on the water event of some kind. Exactly what this comprises will depend on the weather, and what the attending members feel like doing. With high water late in the afternoon The Crouch offers the following possibilities:

  • A sail in company to the River Roach with seal spotting.
  • A sail in company up river from Burnham to anchor/raft up for a picnic lunch afloat.
  • A sail in company up to Fambridge Yacht Haven's river pontoon and a short walk to the
    Ferryboat Inn for thirst quenching.
  • Anchoring up river from Fambridge and enjoying exploring the tidal creeks and marshes in
dinghies, or even up river to Battlesbridge.

Any visiting boats that wish to enjoy the Crouch for longer may like to consider overnighting in the upper reaches, or as a visiting yacht at Fambridge Yacht Haven. Giles and Michelle will host drinks on Sunday evening.

If you would like to attend, register your interest as soon as possible. Simply copy the registration information details below into a new email to east.events@moodyowners.org. Alternatively, reply to the event email when you receive it. Your registration will be acknowledged by email.

Would you please send confirmation by 19th April at the latest, so that I can make the bookings at the Yacht Harbour and confirm numbers for the booking at the RCYC.

Other considerations for attendees

Each skipper is responsible for settling their own berthing fees and costs at the Yacht club. Each Skipper is responsible for their own navigation.

However, if you are new to the area and would like some guidance please include a note in your response. Boats come from a variety of areas and vary in size and speed. However if you would like to sail at least part of the way in company then the organiser may be able to put you in touch with someone willing to assist.

I will confirm your reservations by e-mail and I look forward to hearing from you.
