Fitting Out Supper – 27th February 2016

Coordinator: Sheena Boyce, Solent Branch Secretary

Thirty five members made their way to The Port House at Port Solent for this year’s fitting out supper.  Several keen rugby fans arrived in time to watch England win their Six Nations match against Ireland and the team at The Port House ensured the bar was able to keep the fans fuelled with afternoon tea and early aperitifs.

porthouseAllan and Liz Howlett (who sadly were unable to join us this year) had provided a dingbats quiz that tested the teams (some more than others!) and chocolates were awarded in time to complement the coffees.  A vote of thanks was noted for the quiz and, given the forecast for strong north easterlies we hoped Liz and Allan’s passage to the Baltic was not proving too uncomfortable.

Branch Captain Paul Morgan-Owen took the opportunity to sign up a few boats for his planned cruise to the South West and everyone enjoyed the opportunity to meet new members and to catch up with friends.

The team from Vanilla Catering looked after us well and, after a great evening we all headed our separate ways vowing to catch up soon on a branch event.

Thank you to everyone who came along to join us – we look forward to seeing you all again later in the season.
